Champion is a collaborative portrait series begun in August 2019 to highlight and celebrate people in my community who work and volunteer for various organizations that loudly support the health of women and members of the LGBTQ2S community. I love that the term ‘Champion’ is both a noun and a verb and can apply to any gender. This series is my personal homage to the dedicated souls who tirelessly advocate and defend the health and rights of marginalized people whose personhood, access and support are most often under constant threat physically, politically, socially and culturally.
